Kijabe Mission Hospital is a 280 bed referral hospital located in Kijabe, Kenya, about one hour from Nairobi. It provides a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services. It is the preeminent teaching hospital in East Africa. CHSC staff often serve as faculty in established training programs and residencies raising up the next generation of health professionals. Others train national staff in less formal environments. Building local capacity is central to the identity of the Christian Health Service Corps, therefor we actively seek out places where we can have a lasting impact by discipling, and training local Christian physicians and health professionals to serve in their own communities. Kijabe Mission Hospital is one of these facilities. Kijabe is a PAACS training site with East African residents who are engaged in a 4-year general surgery residency program. We are seeking another General Surgeon who is committed to training the next generation of African surgeons. Kijabe is also a Kbarak University family practice residency clinical site, and there is ongoing training of medical officers and clinical officers. CHSC missionaries Dr. Tim and Linda Berg, and Dr. Will and Allison Caire serve at Kijabe.
