Who We Are

Tim and Stacey DeKoninck

About Tim and Stacey DeKoninck

Tim and Stacey serve at Tenwek Hospital in Bomet, Kenya. Tim and Stacey met at Cedarville University where they first went on a missions trip to Mexico.  After getting married, they spent five years teaching at the International School of Qingdao in China. They served families of TCK’s (third culture kids) and grew in their love for missions and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with people from different cultures.

After returning from China, their focus was to complete medical training to become medical missionaries. They first heard about Tenwek Hospital through the Christian Medical and Dental Association and felt the Lord leading them to serve the people of rural Kenya. Tim is an Emergency Medicine Doctor with a focus on treating people who are critically ill and telling them that Jesus is the One who heals.  He also helps run a Critical Care training program for Kenyan colleagues as they learn the skills necessary to help run an Emergency Room.

Stacey is a teacher who helps teach the Missionary Kids at Tenwek Hospital. They have four children, Seth, Leah, Judah and Moriah who love living in Kenya playing with their friends and exploring God’s creations!

Reserve Corps Application

Our Reserve Corps program allows healthcare professionals seeking to volunteer short-term to do so in a way that supports long-term Christian medical missions work. CHSC places healthcare professionals in a growing list of Christian hospitals across Africa, Asia, Latin America and other regions. Christian Health Service Corps works to improve access to primary healthcare, surgical services, and community-based disease prevention services. Non-Christian volunteers are accepted on a case by case basis but solely at the discretion of the hospital and CHSC team the volunteer will be supporting.

Reserve Corps Application
