Egbe Hospital

ECWA Hospital Egbe, commonly referred to as Egbe Hospital is located in Egbe, Kogi State, Nigeria. (website: https://egbehospital.org/). Egbe Hospital was founded in 1952 by SIM Missionaries Dr George and Esther Campion. The hospital has grown from a small maternity clinic to a 75-bed, multi-service complex, comprised of approximately 33 acres with 68 buildings. It includes a School of Nursing & Midwifery, with an enrollment of just over 150 students, who are being trained and sent as nurses and midwives throughout Nigeria. A Family Medicine Residency Program was established in 1982 with accreditation under the National Postgraduate Medical College of Physicians and later by the West African College of Physicians.

Egbe Hospital was originally intended to serve the people of this very rural area, now people from across Nigeria come to Egbe to receive health care!

In 2011, The Egbe Hospital Revitalization Project was launched in partnership with SIM and Samaritans Purse and has completely transformed and modernized the missionary housing, hospital equipment and complex infrastructure. The School of Nursing is currently being revitalized and is on schedule to be completed by the end of 2020. The revitalized Egbe Hospital has the following services:

Reserve Corps Application

Our Reserve Corps program allows healthcare professionals seeking to volunteer short-term to do so in a way that supports long-term Christian medical missions work. CHSC places healthcare professionals in a growing list of Christian hospitals across Africa, Asia, Latin America and other regions. Christian Health Service Corps works to improve access to primary healthcare, surgical services, and community-based disease prevention services. Non-Christian volunteers are accepted on a case by case basis but solely at the discretion of the hospital and CHSC team the volunteer will be supporting.
