Before serving as missionaries, Steve and Mary partnered in prayer with Christian Health Service Corps for over 6 years. It wasn’t until 2015 that the Lord prompted them to serve the ministry fulltime.
Every sending organization has an un-seen staff that supports its missionaries. Steve & Mary are an integral part of the Christian Health Service Corps staff. CHSC has doctors and nurses in Latin America, Africa, and Asia, and the Tschoepes serve as senders in an administrative, behind-the-scenes role.
Steve holds a BA in Business Administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio. While at UTSA he was very active in campus ministry and took several mission trips into Mexico. Since graduating from UTSA over 20 years ago, Steve has served in the workplace in numerous ways, and uses his database, website, marketing, and I.T. experience to serve the local Christian Health Service Corps staff as well as its missionaries abroad. When he’s not working, Steve loves to make music and worship the Lord. He is a worship leader and multi-instrumental musician, arranger, and recording artist.
Mary holds a BA in Elementary Education from Texas Lutheran College and taught 11 years in the inner city of San Antonio before becoming a full time homeschooling mom of their sons, Bobby and Timmy. During that time, Mary has served in children’s ministry and in the local church; and she has a heart to serve small groups with hospitality and prayer. She shares Steve’s heart to serve; and is excited to be a support to the entire CHSC family. She handles donor care processing and receipting, and finds it a blessing to connect with the missionaries and their support teams.
