Bert & Debbie Oubre

About Bert & Debbie Oubre

Bert, raised in Louisiana, is a graduate of Louisiana State University and finished his residency at San Jaoquin Medical Center in General surgery. As his first wife was dying of breast cancer, he started seeking the Lord and accepted Him as His Lord and Savior and dedicated his life to His service where ever He led him.
Debbie, raised in French Guiana, South America, is a graduate of Lancaster General Hospital School of Nursing and Jefferson Thomas University. She went into nursing so that she could use it as a stepping stone into peoples lives to share the good news.
Bert and Debbie met at Nyankunde, DRC, while they were both on a short term trip. They married in 1986 and have three children born on three continents. We returned to the mission field three weeks after being married always feeling that the Lord wanted us to use our medical training to reach the unreach people groups in the 10/40 window showing them the love of God and training of the nationals. Since 1986, we have worked in Cameroun, Thailand, Sudan, USA, Nigeria, and Chad.
In 2002, we started a project with the goal to reach 6 unreached people group in Chad through medical work. Guinebor 2 Hopital opened in 2010 and is a 50 bed hospital. Our primary goal is to reach 6 unreached people group for the Lord through our medical work and also to train the Chadians.

Reserve Corps Application

Our Reserve Corps program allows healthcare professionals seeking to volunteer short-term to do so in a way that supports long-term Christian medical missions work. CHSC places healthcare professionals in a growing list of Christian hospitals across Africa, Asia, Latin America and other regions. Christian Health Service Corps works to improve access to primary healthcare, surgical services, and community-based disease prevention services. Non-Christian volunteers are accepted on a case by case basis but solely at the discretion of the hospital and CHSC team the volunteer will be supporting.
