Vanessa grew up in Florida, graduating from the University of Florida before spending a year in overseas mission work. Through this experience, she developed a desire to see missionaries, and their families thrive as they served God and His people. Following the prompting of the Lord, Vanessa moved to Texas to attend a local discipleship training school and enrolled in grad school with the hope to serve overseas workers one day. She graduated with a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling and was privileged to serve as a Counselor Intern with Wycliffe Bible Translators for three years. She is married to the most amazing man and has two wonderful little boys who daily keep her on her toes!
As a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, Vanessa is trained in working with clients of all ages and stages of life, but she typically sees young adults, women, couples, and parents seeking support in child-raising. Vanessa often sees clients for issues related to anxiety, depression, burnout and compassion fatigue, family/marital conflict, parenting and motherhood, transitional stress, and cross-cultural issues. She also works with young adult TCKs in navigating their transition to adulthood, and with parents in supporting children with special needs and/or neurodivergence.
