Healthcare professionals and students – gain knowledge and skills for short or long term international service. This course provides an overview of tropical diseases in a case-based format and highlights the provision of quality care through application of global health guidelines. Sessions on topics ranging from malnutrition to cultural context outline approaches to whole-person care in developing communities. Suturing and physical exam workshops promote practical skills for resource-limited settings.

Registration and Logistics
This course is held at CHSC Shalom Retreat and Training Center in Grand Saline, TX. Course activities are scheduled from 8am Monday, June 17, 2019 through 4:30pm Saturday, June 22, 2019. When making transportation arrangements, please plan 2 hours driving time between Dallas airports and Shalom Retreat and Training Center. Participants staying at Shalom Retreat and Training Center are encouraged to arrive June 16 and depart June 23; Full course price includes tuition, room (shared) and board from dinner June 16 through breakfast June 23. A commuter rate is offered which includes lunch daily.
