The disparity of access to surgery around the world is great. In 2015 it was reported by the Lancet Commission on Global Surgery, 5 billion of the world’s population has no access to safe and affordable surgery. Africa alone has 56 million people in need of surgical care. CHSC’s Surgery of All program is focused on training physicians in general & specialized surgical residencies. Training of surgeons in developing nations is always a CHSC priority. Building the local surgical capacity of nations will bringing long-term sustainability to vulnerable communities. The program is currently active in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Chad, Cambodia, and North East Africa.
