Christina and Greg began their marriage and unique ministry partnership in Southern California in 2012 where they founded Cornerstone Community Health Free Clinic. While exploring their respective callings administering a free clinic together alongside Greg’s other church ministries, Christina completed her Master’s in Public Health and medical residencies in Family Medicine and Preventive Medicine, while Greg completed his PhD in Historical theology and was ordained with the church of the Nazarene. They completed a 2-year term with World Medical Mission at African Bible College in Malawi at the end of 2018, and transitioned to Christian Health Service Corps.
Christina is the only Preventive Medicine specialist in Malawi, and one of the few providers comfortable treating noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) on the individual and community level. With individual patients, she provides much-needed primary care for issues from diabetes and hypertension to depression and obesity. In the hospital, she coordinates teaching sessions to help keep the team up-to-date on the latest guidelines and improve quality of care at the institution. She utilizes Nkhoma Hospital’s network of community clinics and Greg’s network of pastors and churches to bring education and healthcare prevention to communities. She also works with local specialists on grants and research projects to bring improved quality of care and resources.
Greg is a lecturer who teaches Christian Theology at Nazarene Theological College of Central Africa. In a country where 85% of people identify as Christian but few have actually heard the Gospel message, Greg focuses on teaching understanding and discernment to pastors. His goal is to train future church leaders in how to understand scripture and think outside of cultural biases.
Together, they hope to continue the teaching and healing ministries of Jesus by transforming medical and pastoral education and bringing health to communities.
Luke 4:18-19 "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
