This training program is great for church mission teams and health professional schools looking for a framework in which to do health missions that help without hurting. The community health practicum is largely prevention focused and covers community based strategies for addressing issues that plague developing communities. This program is field based and provides an overview of Christian community health development, community facilitation and Participatory Learning in Action (PLA). It is designed to teach participants the basics of facilitating community response to their own health problems. Upon completion of the CHSC Community Health Practicum participants will have completed a CHE TOT I. Participants will either be traveling to Haiti with CHSC staff or meeting CHSC Staff at PAP airport, depending upon departure location.
