Global Health Missions Study Abroad Programs
Qualifying school programs include: nursing, nurse practitioner, pharmacy, medicine, physician assistants physical therapy, and other allied health.
This program is offered for schools every semester based on the partnering Universities break schedule at one of the following locations: Honduras, Guatemala, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Kenya, Benin, Ghana, Philippines, Jamaica, and India.
This program is designed for Christian healthcare students to learn the basics of healthcare missions and community based health programs. There is both an online and field based component. This program is for sanctioned teams from your professional school of Christian fellowship organization. Individuals are accepted for this program but at the primary group’s discretion. If you represent a group interested in healthcare missions or are an individual student who would like to join a healthcare please contact us. Cost varies based on location and length of stay.
Medical Student Internships
This program is for 3rd and 4th year medical students who are willing to learn the WHO world health association guidelines and practice under in developing communities under supervision.
This program is offered individual medical students seeking to gain experience in global health. These are individual and small group placements authorized by your medical school or University, as such the schedule and length is variable depending on the facility needs and availability. Internships are scheduled at least one semester in advance at one of the following locations: Haiti, Honduras, Benin, and Ghana. There is an online course component prior that must be completed prior to your assignment.
Global Health Community Nursing Internships
This program is offered to individual’s (nursing students and practicing professional nurses) seeking to gain experience and understanding in global health. There is also an online course section that covers the WHO World Health Organization guidelines for nursing practice in developing communities. This filed portion of this internship is a CHE internship program and it is offered once per year in August in the Philippines. Once this internship is completed there are CHE nurse positions available (short and long term) available in all regions. Nursing student groups traveling with faculty can be placed at any number of CHS partner locations. Individual students are often welcome to join students groups from other nursing schools.
